Body Oriented Psychotherapy

Mainstreams of psychotherapy include Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Behavioral therapy, Systemic therapy, Experiential / Client-centered therapy, Body-oriented and Integrative Psychotherapy. At the IBI we specialize in body-oriented and integrative psychotherapy. In this accessible, partly nonverbal form of therapy, we not only talk, you also get into action. You focus on your body to know what lives inside as emotions, thoughts, desires, frustrations, thinking and behavioral patterns. Next to working with cognition, you will find that your body also helps you to come out of deeply entrenched patterns.

The psychotherapist himself does not solve problems for you, but helps you to see things differently, to better deal with painful feelings or to tackle difficult situations differently. The goal of psychotherapy is to eliminate or reduce your psychological problems and difficulties. The problems that people go to in psychotherapy are very different. Persons with fears, depression, addiction problems, phobias and compulsions are some examples. Often, negative experiences are at the root of the problems.
